    Bertil Vallien (1938- ), one of Europe's preeminent artists in glass, began as a very promising ceramist. After studying under Stig Lindberg at the Swedish National College of Art in Stockholm, Vallien traveled in 1961 to California for a fellowship working at the studio of Los Angeles ceramist Hal Fromhold. It was during this period (1961-1963) that Bertil Vallien's work began to attract critical praise, and during which this beautiful piece was made.
    This plaque is all hand formed and clearly marked on the front several times.
