    BEHIND THE SCENES TRIVIA :
It seems that term "paparazzo" was coined by Federico Fellini himself. Paparazzo means "sparrow" in one Italian dialect (in normal usage the Italian for "sparrow" is "passero"). Fellini explained that the photographers hopping and scurrying around celebrities reminded him of sparrows. Was voted the 6th Greatest film of all time by Entertainment Weekly. Ranked number 10 non-English-language film in the critics' poll conducted by the BBC in 2018. Included among the "1001 Movies You Must See Before You Die", edited by Steven Schneider. Besides Citizen Kane (1941), Roger Ebert considers La Dolce Vita to also be his favorite movie.
    PLOT SUMMARY :
A series of stories following a week in the life of a philandering paparazzo journalist living in Rome. Marcello Rubini (played by Marcello Mastroianni) is a writer and journalist, the worst kind of journalist - a tabloid journalist, or paparazzo. His job involves him trying to catch celebrities in compromising or embarrassing situations. He tends to get quite close to his subject, especially when they're beautiful women. Two such subjects are a local heiress, Maddalena (Anouk Aimee), and a Swedish superstar-actress, Sylvia (Anita Ekberg), both of whom he has affairs with. This is despite being engaged to Emma (Yvonne Furneaux), a rather clingy, insecure, nagging, melodramatic woman. Despite his extravagant, pleasure-filled lifestyle, he is wondering if maybe a simpler life wouldn't be better.
