.  Found by a diver in 15 feet of water on sand, Spanish Lagoon, Aruba, 1968.  You know, there is something about finding a murex shell that just isn't like anything else---I guess it has to do with the fact that in Hawaii, murex shells are rare indeed, so when you do find one, you remember!  (Check out my murex pele story, for more info on that!)  Anyhow, I think it would be heaven to be able to go collecting some place like the Philippines or Aruba, where finding a murex is not such a rare event, I truly do!

As for normal disclaimers, we do the best we can with photos, but color is tricky, especially since cell phone cameras automatically lean towards flesh-tone coloring, (that's why so many of the photos of shells on eBay show up with more orange than is really there, the camera changes the color, and damm if I can figure out how to stop that from happening, but I try, honest!
