This amazing piece was created by Win Ng (1936 - 1991), an extremely creative, innovative gay American artist and designer who worked in the studio of Jade Snow Wong in San Francisco.  Diversely talented, he also made abstract ceramics, illustrated books and was co-founder of the fabulous company Taylor & Ng.  The BART Station in Orinda CA has a 100 foot x 16 foot mural by Ng and his pieces are in many important museums including the De Young Museum, Smithsonian, National Museum of Art in Tokyo, Victoria and Albert Museum, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art and Museum of Contemporary Crafts.

just to let you know, this piece was made by win ng. he was an internationally recognized artist that worked in a variety of different media, as well as being the co-founder of a chain of retail specialty stores in the san francisco bay area named taylor & ng. as a teenager, he worked for jade snow wong in her studio as a "clean-up boy". his works are in the permanent collections of several notable museums. hope you find the info useful. derek
