    Description

Up for your consideration is this lot of 100 Dwarf Hairgrass seeds.. the species is Eleocharis acicularis. These are the REAL THING. Grown and harvested by me in my hobby greenhouse here in Illinois. These are rarely offered to the hobbyist and the supply is limited. This species grows about 3" tall and will make an excellent carpet once it's well established. Growing aquarium and aquatic plants from seed is not that unusual. One of the world's largest producers of aquatic plants (located in Denmark) uses seed to produce some of the aquatic plants that they grow in rockwool and sell in net pots (they even state it on their website).  Dwarf hairgrass plants are not that difficult to grow from seed but the seeds do require a cold/moist period of at least 30 days in order to germinate. This is explained in detail in the included instructions.  They also should be grown in emersed conditions (roots in moist soil, leaves in the air) at first and then transferred to an aquarium later if you wish.  The seeds are small and because of this do require care when planting. Again, this is all explained in the instructions that are included with each order.
The photograph of the young seedlings was taken about 1 week after sowing. The photograph of the plant in the aquarium is for illustration only and shows what the adult plants will look like. You will receive 100 genuine Eleocharis acicularis seeds and growing instructions with each order.  Please see the positive feedback that I have received on the other species of authentic aquatic plant seeds that I've sold here on eBay and please see my other listings for more aquatic plant seed varieties that I offer.  I've been growing aquatic plants for 50 years and I first sold aquatic plant seeds in the early 1980's through classified ads in popular aquarium magazines. Give seeds a try... it's a satisfying experience and science is fun!
Please check the photographs closely. They provide important detail of this item and are part of the description of this item.  Local pickup from my N.E. Illinois location is always welcome for large or heavy items.  Thanks for considering this item.
